In your 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, or 70’s?  Are you looking for destinations that cater more to the over 40’s crowd?  At Preferred Vacations, we have a dedicated staff that fits squarely into your demographic. And we know the resorts and destinations that offer the right mix of inclusions. For many years, ocean cruising has been considered one of the areas of travel that appeals to an older age group.  While this may be the case with a number of cruise lines, there are many options out there for resort stays.

Do you think of all inclusive resorts as a raucous party that goes on until the wee hours of the morning? While there are some resorts that feature a more Vegas-style approach, we have a top choice in all inclusive that offers a more mature approach to vacationing. And check out our 2nd and 3rd choices!

1. Couples Tower Isle – All Inclusive

Founded in 1949 and once the playground of stars such as Errol Flynn, Eva Gabor, Debbie Reynolds and a cast of others, Tower Isle was Jamaica’s first year-round resort operation. In 1978, the Couples concept was introduced, but the classic structure still remains with an ode to its storied past. The Piano Bar features several images of founder, Abe Issa, with many of the celebrities that frequented the resort in the early years.

This all inclusive for couples-only, features easily accessible restaurants, bars, pool,  main lobby and accommodations so you won’t need to worry about having to board a shuttle to move to and fro like some of the massive facilities that are being built today.

There are many included activities such as snorkeling, scuba and golf. And there is a private off-shore island for au natural sunbathing where the average age is on the higher side.

Around the main pool, you’ll see many guests reading a book or just lounging. The swim-up bar pool is a little more lively and is open until late afternoon.

Dining is elegant and in traditional Jamaican resort settings. The evening entertainment is classy and lively. Sing-a-long at the Piano Bar is always a favorite.

Couples has a top-rated spa set amidst a tropical backdrop. All-in-all, Couples Tower Isle is one of our favorites for those over 40.

2. Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort – Breakfast Plan

The Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort in Aruba is set on an idyllic stretch of white sand on Eagle Beach. What we love about this hotel is the adults-only and boutique style of vacationing. While not an all inclusive, the Bucuti offers a breakfast plan and you’ll have a plethora of nearby dining options!

Aruba is very easy to navigate by taxi. In addition to the natural beauty of the island, you’ll enjoy the warm and welcoming nature of the local residents. Aruba is home to over 100 local dining options that feature International cuisine and local favorites.

The Bucuti does receive a number of honeymooners during the March-November time frame. However, the winter months are populated by a more mature clientele.

Casino gaming is legal in Aruba and the options are numerous.

The Bucuti is a low-key resort without a lot of entertainment so expect to go out on the town if you are looking for a more upbeat evening.

FYI. The Tara building does feature an elevator.

3. Galley Bay Antigua – All Inclusive

By way of several repeat clients that frequent the Galley Bay in Antigua, this resort is decidedly an over 40’s favorite, with many in the over 55 range. A number of visitors come from the UK to this adults-only all inclusive that is fronted by an amazing white sand beach!

At Galley Bay, everything is relaxed. Good food, good friends. And no one is in a hurry. The repeat rate at Galley Bay is impressive. Many people feel like a part of the Galley Bay family.

I’ve visited there and it is truly one of those magical places that you want to keep returning to. Giorgio Armanni has a house on the cliff overlooking the beach and Caribbean Sea. It’s a picturesque setting as you stroll the mile long stretch of beach.
